CEO  

Sean Neylon, 1955, Great Britain

 

 

Sean Neylon has been the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board since the creation of Colibrys in Jan 1st 2001. Prior to founding Colibrys as a spin-off from CSEM where he was the VP of Microsystems he had been since 1997 the Assistant CEO with Micronas SA, a Swiss manufacturer of Semiconductors and Hybrid sensors.

Before moving to Switzerland, he was Business development manager with

 

Plessey Semiconductors in the UK having previously spent some twenty years within GEC Marconi involved in Research, Design , Engineering and Manufacture principally for Microwave & RF products, starting his professional career within GEC Hirst Research Centre.

Sean Neylon qualified from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London with a BSc Hons in Physics.

CFO

Helmut Beck, 1956, German

 

 

Helmut Beck joined Colibrys in December 2001 after the spin off from CSEM as CFO of the company. Since late 2003 he is acting in addition to his role as CFO as Director HR. He is member of the Board of Directors for Colibrys (Switzerland) Ltd and Colibrys Inc.

Prior to his employment with Colibrys he was Vice President Finance and Administration for Cellzome AG, in Germany, having previously acquired
 

a broad experience from about twenty years of work in various finance functions with companies in the pharmaceutical and automotive industry and in the banking sector.   

Helmut Beck got a degree in Business Administration from the University of Stuttgart Germany after having accomplished his studies at the Universities of Stuttgart and Paris (Sorbonne).

CTO

Felix Rudolf, 1950, Swiss

 

 

Felix Rudolf has been our Chief Technical Officer since the creation of Colibrys. His key responsibilities are the alignment of the technology / product roadmaps with the business strategy, the coordination of R&D projects with external research organizations and the development of the IP Portfolio.

Prior to founding Colibrys as a spin-off from CSEM , he had been involved for over 20 years in research and
 

development of MEMS technologies and devices and in particular of accelerometers in the CSEM Microsystems Division. He started his work as a scientist, gradually evolved to managerial responsibilities and since 1996 has worked in his current role.

Felix Rudolf qualified from ETHZ with a diploma in Physics followed by a PhD in solid state Physics at the University of Neuchâtel.

VP Central Services

Herma Klootsema, 1965, Dutch

 

 

Herma Klootsema has been the Director Central Services since the creation of Colibrys.

Prior to founding Colibrys as a spin-off from CSEM , she had been since 1999 the Central Services Manager of the CSEM Microsystems Division with several responsibilities including Logistics, Purchasing, Chemical Services, Sales-Administration, Production-Planning and Control.

After having worked for Ascom Autelca in the marketing department,
 

she joined in 1992 Micronas SA, a Swiss manufacturer of Semiconductors and Hybrid sensors, where she was responsible for all Logistics & Customer Services.

Herma Klootsema studied at the law faculty of Groningen University in the Netherlands and worked for a tax lawyer firm for several years before coming to Switzerland in 1988. She completed her training as marketing technician at the Management Institute in Berne in 1992.

VP Sales & Marketing

Jean-Michel Stauffer, 1965, Swiss

 

 

Jean-Michel Stauffer has been nominated Sales & Marketing Director within Colibrys in June 2007. Previously and since the creation of Colibrys, he had been Business Development Manager for accelerometer in the company.

Before moving to the MEMS business, he was acting as site director with Photronics Inc, having previously spent more than fifteen years in the photo-mask business,

 

involved in R&D, Manufacturing, Production Management and Sales & Marketing.

Jean-Michel Stauffer qualified from the Swiss Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL) in Microtechnologies.

VP Product Development

Patrick Debergh, 1957, Belgium

 

 

 

Patrick Debergh has been the Director of Product Development and member of the board of directors since the creation of Colibrys. Prior to founding the company he was the Engineering Manager within the Microsystems Manufacturing division of CSEM . His former profesional experience at CSEM was in the field of integrated optics for telecom applications, fiber sensors, micro-systems based on artificial retinas, DOEs (Diffractive Optical Elements) and Moems development.

Before joining CSEM he was head of
 

 

the development group of the company ARL SA (Applied Research Labs, former Bausch & Lomb) a manufacturer of industrial optical and X-ray spectrometers
He graduated in Physics at Ghent University in Belgium in 1979, specialized thereafter in surface analysis techniques in the crystallograhy lab of Ghent university (B). He then joined the IMT (Institute of Microtechniques) in Neuchâtel as a Research Scientist where he developed bi-refringent fiber optic force and pressure sensors.

VP Operations

Jacques Moser, 1964, Swiss

 

 

 

Jacques Moser was appointed VP Operations (Switzerland) in July 2008. Prior to this, he joined Colibrys in 2000 as Process Engineering Manager. He took the additional responsibility of yield and process integration in 2006, with the main task of bringing new manufacturing technologies to maturity.
His previous experience includes a research fellowship at University of  Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (USA), followed by various process
 

 

development and process engineering positions in semiconductor wafer fabs, first with Micronas then with EM-Microelectronics.
Jacques Moser graduated from EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland) with a physics degree followed by a PhD with focus in thin films deposition.

VP Quality Systems

Mark Scarth, 1963, Great Britain

 

 

 

Mark Scarth joined Colibrys in 2001, initially as Project Resource Manager within the Product development department.

Since 2004 he has occupied the post of Quality Manager. Prior to joining Colibrys in Switzerland, Mark had responsibilities managing engineering and production groups within semiconductor environments, initially with Micronas SA and then EM-Microelectronics. Before arriving in Switzerland ,his previous 

 

 

experience covered CMOS/Bipolar process development engineering principally for ASIC / RF products within UK companies GEC-Plessey semiconductors, Racal and starting his career at BAe Systems. Mark Scarth qualified in 1984 from the University of Manchester, with a BSc Hons in Physics, subsequently gaining a MSc in Microelectronic Engineering from Middlesex Polytechnic.
